First United Presbyterian Church

Presbyterian Women

Scripture asks us to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world. Presbyterian Women provides information about justice and peace and ministry to inform mission and community-building work.

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:

  • to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study
  • to support the mission of the church worldwide
  • to work for justice and peace
  • to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom

Presbyterian Women of the Presbyterian Church (USA)

The Presbyterian Women of First United Presbyterian Church offer a variety of small groups that give women the opportunity to learn and grow in their faith as well as enjoy fellowship with one another.

Each year they oversee the decoration of the church Chrismon Tree and a Hat-Mitten-Sock tree. The items donated to decorate the Hat-Mitten-Sock tree are distributed by social workers from our local school district to students in need.

Another annual activity is the awarding of Presbyterian Women Honorary Lifetime Memberships to women (and sometimes men) to recognize their devotion and service to PW and/or the church.
