First United Presbyterian Church has Sunday school with Bible study, song, and activities for children at 9:30 every Sunday morning.
We have two Spiritual Growth opportunities for children:
- Joy-us is for pre-K through 3rd grade
- Good Neighbors is for grades 4-6
We currently have a Confirmation Class for 8-9 grade and a group meeting for 7-12th grades.

Children and Families
At a child’s baptism, our congregation promises to support and nurture a child in the development of his or her faith. At First United Presbyterian, we are committed to honoring this baptismal covenant in the way we nurture and guide the faith development of our children and their families.
First United Presbyterian Children and Family Ministry offers a foundation for spiritual formation, opportunities for worship leadership, experience serving others, and the resources to continue faith-filled conversations at home. Infants through 6th graders and their families, from both our church and community, are invited to participate in all of our programs.
Director of Christian Education, Kristi Button, M.A., C.C.E., is the director of FUPC Children’s Ministry.
Seasonal Events
Seasonal events include our Vacation Bible School, Celebration at the Manger, Children’s Musical, Easter Celebration, Pentecost Party, On-the-Go Summer Activity Packs, and more. Nursery Ministry
Our nursery is staffed by childcare professionals in a safe and loving environment. Infants, toddlers, and Pre-K children enjoy a warm, welcoming space fully equipped with books, toys, music, and care essentials. Children hear Bible stories and participate in activities in a space designed for their curiosity and learning through play. For more information on our childcare, contact us with the form above.
Splash! Birth to Three Faith Formation
In our commitment to support and partner with families, we offer a special ministry to young families and their infant through 3 year old children: Splash!, by Augsburg-Fortress Publishing. At birth and one year, families receive a CD full of terrific music. Monthly parent pages provide information and support to parents as they minister to their child’s physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development.
Vacation Bible School
We have VBS every summer.
First School
Fayetteville United Presbyterian Church hosts First School on our campus. First School offers Parents’ Day Out, Preschool, and Kindergarten programs.
