Announcing the 2021 Summer Mission Trip: Ferncliff Camp!

We are excited to tell you that the FUPC Session has approved our 2021 Summer Mission Trip! UPY will be traveling to Ferncliff Camp from June 20-25. We will work, sleep, and eat all at Ferncliff – separated from the summer camp programming – allowing us to create a controlled and safe environment for students and chaperones.

Please check back to this page regularly for updated information. We will produce a full document of all the crucial information very soon!

Registration will take place ASAP. Contact Jacob or Brianne with any questions or concerns!

THANK YOU!

What’s happening right now?

UPY is moving indoors! With the move, it’s important that you monitor your health and only come to UPY if you are healthy. We are asking all students to use the same self-screening questions as the Fayetteville Public Schools system. Before attending a UPY event, please ask yourself the questions located in THIS DOCUMENT.

Weekly Schedule – Masks Required at all UPY activities

UPY Together – Sunday evenings, 4:30-6 pm

This is our weekly large-group gathering. All incoming 7th graders through outgoing 12th graders are invited to attend. Every week we enjoy hanging out, playing games, chatting, and learning about our faith and each other.

We have received permission from the Session of FUPC to meet indoors as the weather gets colder and the evenings get darker. We will only meet in large rooms and social distancing will be maintained. We will not be doing meals during youth group for the foreseeable future.

Small Groups – Wednesday evenings, 7:30-8:30 pm

All 7th – 12th graders are invited to join a UPY Small Group! We meet from 7:30 – 8:30 pm on Wednesday nights. We have small groups for guys and gals! Small groups is a great place to meet new students in a smaller setting and have open discussions about our faith. The emphasis is on personal sharing and encouragement!

About UPY

At First United Presbyterian Church, we believe that building students up to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ is a primary responsibility of any church. That’s why our students spend time in quality discussion of that complicated book called “The Holy Bible.” We don’t believe that easy answers or surface-level understandings will help our students take ownership of their faith. Instead, we aim to inspire wonder in the person and the word of God.

The students and staff of United Presbyterian Youth (UPY) are passionate about the story of God. Everything we do is centered around sharing and enjoying God’s work throughout history. That means we tell and retell the fantastic stories from the pages of Scripture. But it also means that we tell stories of God’s work in our own lives—we’re part of God’s story too. Every week UPY students share a “King Sighting,” a small (or large) moment where they’ve seen God during their week.

We enjoy practical service opportunities, Bible studies, retreats, and large-group gatherings, all designed to help us grow resilient and community-oriented faith. Students at UPY have a chance to make a visible difference in God’s Kingdom by participating in outreach opportunities through work with local agencies, national mission trips, and even international relief efforts.

We seek to create a welcoming and loving environment where everyone is welcome. UPY welcomes all youth 7th-12th grade to join us for faith, fellowship, and fun. Come along with us as we engage with God’s story together!
