Palm Parade on 3/27

FUPC members and friends are invited to an outdoor, safely distanced Palm Parade on Saturday, March 27!

Because we will not be able to gather in person on Palm Sunday, we are creatively re-imagining our much loved Palm Sunday Parade as a special outdoor event on Saturday, March 27. This event is for EVERYONE! We will turn our parade into a video to be used in worship the next day, Palm Sunday.

We will gather on the lawn near Lower Witherspoon at 1:30 p.m. After distributing palm branches, we will parade around the FUPC courtyard area in masks and safely distanced. (If you need a more mobility-friendly option, please park in the lot by the bell and walk on the sidewalks over to the Upper Witherspoon deck. We will meet you there!)

We are excited to see you for the Palm Parade. This should be a fun and celebratory event! After the parade, children and families are invited to stay for a short “Holy Week Symbols Hunt” lasting until 2:30 p.m.

If you not coming to the Parade but would like to receive palms and communion elements for Holy Week services, please drive to the top of Calvin Street between 1:30-2:30 p.m. Turn left toward the bell…. Elders will be distributing the elements out of the area by the kitchen door while the Parade is in progress. Cars can exit down Birwin Street.

An additional time to receive communion elements is Wednesday, March 31, from 5:30-6:30 p.m., also at the kitchen door.
