Dedication of the Reverend Lee Power Garden

October 11, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am

DEDICATION OF THE REVEREND LEE POWER GARDEN

We are pleased to let the congregation know that a beautiful patio and garden area has been developed (off the Music Room) as a gift to the church in honor of Rev. Lee Power by her family. Those who serve on Properties and the Earth Care Task Group, as well as several other very faithful volunteers, have worked for 18 months to transform this hillside into a terraced patio with plantings and seating for worship and fellowship. On October 11, we will say “thank you” to God again as we remember Lee and her important ministry among us. We invite you to come to the 8:30 service. (Please bring a lawn chair and sun shield and plan to observe the CDC protocols of temperature checks, sign-ins, masking, and distancing). After the sermon, we will “process” to the garden behind the Sanctuary for the dedication. If you prefer only to be on campus briefly, you can park in the lot next to the Sanctuary and join us during the procession (or situate your chair ahead on the parameter of the garden). Dwight Power will share a personally meaningful excerpt from one of his mom’s sermons. Isaac Thomas, Director of Music Ministries, will play “i due fiumi” (The Two Rivers) composed by Ludovico Einaudi. For those who worship by livestream, we will try to include pictures of the dedication at the late service. Because of the pandemic, we understand that this will be a small service and know that many of you [who would in other circumstances be present] will join us in prayer from your homes.
