The Bible Discovery class is an adult discussion class. Each quarter has a theme, and generally the readings alternate each quarter between Old Testament and New Testament. This quarter the theme is “Justice, Law and History.” Dennis Brewer and Jane Steinkraus are the discussion leaders this year.
“We follow a quarterly Bible study guide,” explains co-leader Jane Steinkraus. “Each member of the class receives their own copy of the guide, and can follow it to whatever degree they want. There are brief daily scripture readings that relate to the upcoming class, but the class does not require preparation, and anyone is welcome to join in.”
It’s helpful to have a Bible in class, and there are plenty in the classroom. If you have a favorite translation, feel free to bring your own Bible. “It adds interest to the class to have multiple translations,” says Jane.
