Mini Revolutions is an intergenerational, lectionary-based curriculum grounded in the sacred rhythms of the Church year, crafted by ministers and practitioners who know what real church life looks like.
Youth
Amanda McDonald leads our Sunday morning option for youth in grades 6th – 12th. This group meets in Lower Knox Building. This group will use the Youth Mini Revolutions Curriculum. Mini Revolutions is an intergenerational, lectionary-based curriculum grounded in the sacred rhythms of the Church year, crafted by ministers and practitioners who know what real church life looks like.
Adults
There are three spiritual growth opportunities for adults every Sunday morning which we call discussion groups. Some churches divide Sunday School classes by age or gender, but FUPC welcomes diverse groups in all three classes. All are welcome to attend any of the three offerings
- Present Word – This group uses the Present Word Bible Study Curriculum. The winter curriculum is Enduring Beliefs of the Christian Faith and the spring curriculum is Social Teachings of the Church. Dennis Brewer, with the support of others in the class, will be teaching the class. They meet in Calvin 201.
- Thoughtful Christians – This group is typically a book study group. In January, they plan to begin to read and discuss Taking Religion Seriouslyby Charles Murray. The group is led by Derrik Olsen. They meet in Calvin 203.
- The Gospel According to Ted Lasso – The class is led by our interim pastor, Stewart Smith. The class will be watching episodes from season 2 and then discussing how God’s love and presence shine through the characters and their relationships. Please note: while full of meaningful lessons, the series contains consistent coarse language. This class meets in Upper Witherspoon.
