A BRIEF CONGREGATIONAL MEETING will be held on December 17 immediately following worship to elect officers.

CHRISTMAS JEWLERY OFFERING - Need something to do with jewelry you no longer wear? You can donate it to the Beautiful Lives area during the Alternative Market. Some of this Jewelry will be offered without cost to women in economic need. Beautiful Lives provides dance therapy for residents in shelters in the NWA area. They support two other local ministries, Young Lives Ministry provides support for pregnant and teen moms in our area. Go Near Ministry mobilizes people and resources to empower the widow, orphan, prisoner, and poor in Kenya.

OUR DECEMBER “MEET AND EAT” will be this Monday, December 4, at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to join us at Whole Hog Café for food, fun, and fellowship! Reservations are not required but if you’d like to let us know that you’ll be joining us, you may contact Kristi Button (kbutton@fupcfay.org or 442-4411).

CHRISTMAS LESSONS AND CAROLS WILL BE HELD DECEMBER 10 DURING WORSHIP. This rich tradition had its beginning in the late 19th century and continues today. One of the longest running Lessons and Carols services is held by King's College in Cambridge, England. Both services will contain scripture readings, carols sung by the
congregation, and musical offerings by the church's numerous musical ensembles.

OUR ANNUAL CELEBRATION AT THE MANGER WILL BE DECEMBER 10 BEGINNING 4:30 P.M. followed by a lasagna or mac’n’cheese dinner. Join us for this annual children’s program. We are looking for children from our congregation and First School to share music. If your child plays an instrument or would like to sing, please let Kristi Button (kbutton@fupcfay.org) know so we can add them to the musical interludes of the program. Please talk to your child’s music teachers about the Christmas songs they might learn. Children should plan to arrive by 4:00 p.m. to allow time to change into costume and prepare for the program. For dinner reservations, please contact the church office (442-4411 or hnash@fupcfay.org) by noon, Wednesday, December 6.

FIRST SCHOOL IS OFFERING TWO SATURDAY CHILDCARE OPPORTUNITIES ON DECEMBER 16. Have some holiday shopping or decorating to do that’s best taken care of without little “elves” running around? Maybe there’s a movie you’d like to see or you’re overdue for a date night. Let us take care of the kiddos for a few hours! We promise they’ll have tons of fun! During the morning session, from 9:00 a.m. - noon Children are invited to a Grinch-themed who-tacular evening as we enjoy a pizza dinner, cookie decorating, and other grinch-tastic activities. Children will be able to watch The Grinch as well. The cost is $20 per child. The evening session will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. First School teachers will lead a Candy Cane Elves themed evening full of a variety of crafts and other activities your children are sure to love. The cost is $30 per child. Pre-registration and permission slip information for each child is required. Space is limited! To sign-up, contact Cathy Hairston (571-4516 or
chairston@fupcfay.org).

LET’S GO CAROLING ON DECEMBER 9 AT 4:00 P.M. We will meet at FUPC in the north parking lot. There will be four or five locations we will visit to sing a few carols. After the singing we will find a warm restaurant and share supper together. Please let Carol Van Scyoc (466-9465) know if you plan to join the fun. This will not be a trained choir, but the love an effort is always appreciated by everyone we see.

OUR FUPC CHRISTMAS BRUNCH WILL BE SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17, AT 9:30 A.M. Please join us in the Fellowship Hall as we come together with family, friends, and neighbors to enjoy a potluck meal and celebrate the season. Children will have the opportunity to break away for their own fun when they gather for a birthday party for Jesus! We look forward to seeing everyone and sampling all of the scrumptious dishes.

THE SESSION AND DEACONS APPRECIATION CHRISTMAS DINNER will be held Sunday, December 17, at 6:00 p.m. at the home of James and Mary Ellen Moore. This is for all who are currently serving or completing their terms and also those who begin service in 2018 and all spouses.
