Youth

The youth experience at First United Presbyterian Church guides youth to further understand their faith in Jesus Christ while also teaching them practical ways to live in community and spread God’s love throughout the world. The youth enjoy bible studies, retreats, and recreation events that help mold their faith and strengthen their love for the church. Youth will have a chance to make a visible difference in the world as we participate in many outreach opportunities through work with local agencies, national mission trips, and even international relief efforts. The youth a First United Presbyterian Church seek to love and welcome all!

United Presbyterian Youth (UPY) welcomes all youth 6th – 12th grade to join for faith, fellowship, and fun!

UPY gathers from 5:30 – 7:00 on Sunday evenings in upper Witherspoon building. We enjoy fellowship and a delicious dinner provided by our loving congregation members! We then participate in a variety of bible and topical studies, mission opportunities, and fun recreation!

Sunday School is offered through 12th grade from 9:30 – 10:30.

  • 8th – 12th Grade – Meet in lower Witherspoon and enjoy a variety of topical series that explore varies parts of the Christian faith.
  • 6th – 7th Grade – Youth are invited to deepen and develop their faith through confirmation. While participating in Sunday school, worship, and the life of the church throughout these first two years of middle school, during each of the two winters (January to March) there is a ten-week confirmation specific class offered. This two-year long experience encourages youth to deepen their understanding of the Presbyterian Church, the Christian faith, their own faith, and their place as members of the Body of Christ.
